First of all, then, I urge that entreaties and prayers, petitions, and thanksgivings, be made on behalf of all men, for kings and all who are in authority, in order that we may lead a tranquil and quiet life in all godliness and dignity.

I Timothy 2:1-2

As constitutional lawyer John Whitehead reminds us: "Politicians come and go. The machinery of oppression remains." However, we are to realize that: 


Once to every man and nation

Comes the moment to decide,

In the strife of truth with falsehood,

For the good or evil side:

With each choice God speaking to us

Offering each the bloom or blight,

Then the man or nation chooses

For the darkness or the light
