Last week seemed to be one of those kinds of weeks.
Israel struck Hamas negotiators in Qatar. A large group of Russian drones invaded Poland's airspace. The French government once again has fallen, having lost the confidence of the people. The prime minister of Japan announced he was stepping down. Far-right parties are gaining steam across Europe. The former president of Brazil was sentenced to 27 years in prison. The ambassador from Britain to the United States was dismissed because of a connection to Jeffrey Epstein. And then the assassination of Charlie Kirk. Perhaps the most revealing activity has been the response of many of those who are on the political left to the death of Kirk. Unspeakable, unconscionable, inconceivable, and incredible…but real.
All of this and much more could lead you to one of two conclusions. Either there is no God, and life is simply a crapshoot - all is randomness and chance. Or, there is a malevolent and malicious force behind such evil and wickedness. Door number 2 is correct, but there is also a second element to this side of the equation. His name is YAHWEH, THE GREAT I AM, His name is ADONI, the Lord. His name is JESUS. He is our savior and He will save us and get us safely home.
Charlie Kirk is safely home and one day so shall we be. But until then, and if the Lord tarries, we are to be about His business, and that is to Make Disciples: Right now and right where we are.
