 Thy Will be Done
It takes a high degree of conviction, confidence and courage to pray that prayer. It means that your goal is not that it turns out "all right" for you, but that no matter how it turns out it is the right thing for you. It means you understand that your heavenly Father is the guardian of your life, that He is trustworthy, and you can rely on His providential ability to prepare you, protect you and produce in you that which He desires.

"Thy will be done" means you are willing to submit your goals for your life to Him. It means you are willing to subjugate your will and suppress your own desires for His will and desires for your life. It means, as Elisabeth Elliot has so eloquently said, "To pray "Thy will be done" I must be willing, if the answer requires it, that my will be undone."

I do not know about you, but I suspect you are like me and that you find it hard to be "undone."  But to come to the end of yourself can be the beginning of knowing God.

Serving Him with you
Until He comes for us,
